Life is a jungle

We can live in the shadows

Or shine through the trees

About Me

About Me

My name is Savannah Huffman. I have lived on the southeast side of Indianapolis my entire life. I graduated from Franklin Central High School. My family consists of my parents, my two brothers, my sister, and my sweet dog Maybelle. I got married last summer and started my own family with my husband Avery and dog Sky. Some of my passions include soccer, fitness, wellness, volleyball, and coloring. I am attending Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis and majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Wellness Coaching. I have always had a passion for helping people make healthier decisions with food and exercise, so that is why I am pursuing a career in Wellness Coaching. This job will allow me to come alongside individuals who want to turn their lives around, but don't know practical ways to achieve their goals.

Nothing has had a greater impact on how I view the world than my mission trip to Mazatlan, Mexico in 2017. I went with a group from my church with an agency called Back2Back ministries. They focus on caring for orphans in the surrounding areas. Our time was focused on an orphanage called Ranchos De Los Ninos. These kids all had special needs. We were there for a week; helping take care of the kids, doing construction work on their new houses, and getting to know the culture of Mexico. This trip made me realize that I am very blessed in my situation of life and I should take nothing for granted.

A person who has had a great impact on my life and shaped me into the person I am today is my travel soccer coach, John. He coached me from the age of ten to sixteen. Some of the major principles he taught me was how to work with a team, be a patient player, and the most important rule in soccer is to give 100 percent effort. I have seen these lessons directly translate to my life outside of soccer at home, school, church, and in my community. I was able to work alongside my family to resolve conflicts because I knew we all had the same goal, like a team. I was also able to show more patience at home with my younger sister and parents. My effort in school nearly exceeded my effort on the field. He was there for me as I was trying to figure out whom I wanted to me.

Cultural Momentos

Cultural Momentos

The biggest decision I have made in my adult life so far was to get tattoos. These tattoos are visual representations of my faith to Jesus Christ. My parents brought me up in the church but ultimately it was my decision to follow continue to live for him.

Personal health through exercise and eating healthy foods is a priority for me and my family. If we supply our body with the nutrients it needs and live an active lifestyle, it can help us prevent many diseases and injuries. By following these guidelines, my family has had no history of heart disease.

True Colors

True Colors Personality Assessment

Orange

Some characteristics of an orange personality color are as follows: spontaneous, adventurous, charming, and competitive. I see these traits demonstrated in my life through my interactions with friends, family, and even strangers. I like to solve problems by diving in and addressing any obstacles if they arise. I like to take leadership in a group situation, but allowing my other group members work out their own way of doing things is the best way to accomplish any goal as a team.
